School Violence

South African society has become increasingly violent.

Drug and alcohol usage amongst teenagers is massively on the increase. In 2007, Independent Online presented research that one in three South African teenagers is using substances. Schools are increasingly becoming centres of violence and hurt, rather than healthy breeding grounds for our future leaders.

NWU students held for arson September 3, 2008
Four students have been arrested for arson at the North West University's Mafikeng campus following protests at the institution, police said on Wednesday.
